The Stillpoint Yoga London Spring Gathering is our annual signature event where we bring together different teachers to share with our community a fuller experience of yoga and it’s different elements. Bringing together asana practice, pranayama, chanting, yoga philosophy, discussion, contemplation and mindfulness our core faculty of Greg Nardi, Kia Naddermier, Scott Johnson, Peg Mulqueen and Josefin Wikstrom (Saturday only) will cultivate a weekend of inquiry into yoga practice and culture. We aim meet each other as a collective group of people moving towards a shared goal through conversation and collaboration rather than as teacher/student. We wrestle and unpack yoga teachings together through dialogue.

Please join us for a weekend of practice, discussion, and contemplation on what it means to practice yoga in our modern day culture and every day life.

The 2018 agenda will be based on the question:

Parampara and Guru Culture; What is this tradition and what is left when it falls away?

Please note: The afternoon discussion will be broadcast live and the conversation be used for a podcast for Ashtanga Dispatch

The whole weekend made me realise how lucky I am to have found such a wholesome and nurturing environment – quite hard in ‘yoga brand’ heavy London. The Gathering was neither just a workshop, nor some hippy fest gathering to talk about how our chakras were feeling. It was practical, positive, structured but relaxed, fun yet focussed, mind blowing yet totally and utterly inclusive and unpretentious. It was a down to earth bunch of people exploring their own yoga journey but on a group trip. Big thanks and huge love to Scott, John, Andy, Matthew, Nikki, Louise and all at SYL for a brilliant gathering – can’t wait for the next one!

I signed up to Stillpoint’s Spring Yoga Gathering not quite knowing what to expect. As John Scott reminded us on the first day of the workshop, this is not about exercise. If you want to do exercise you can go down to the gym. When we turn up on the mat we are doing much more than that, continuing and remixing an ancient tradition of awareness and embodiment. Where that takes us is up to us. We can only find out what yoga is by getting on a mat and practising and questioning and questioning and practising some more.

The Stillpoint Yoga London Spring Gathering was an opportunity to immerse myself in an entire weekend of yoga and to connect with the wonderful community that Scott Johnson has built up. It didn’t disappoint. It was a truly nourishing experience. It was wonderful to feel that group energy once again and to work with skilled teachers such as John, Scott and Andy who truly embody the practice of yoga.
