8:00 am - 11:45 am
Stillpoint Yoga London
Scott Johnson & Andy Gill
Saturday 19th December, 08:00 – 11:45
Join Scott and Andy as they share their knowledge of the sanskrit count. The count is a numbered system and the framework that underpins the ashtanga yoga practice. It is a system that trains the mind to stay focused on the breath, underpins the vinyasa method and is therefore a vital part of the ashtanga vinyasa system. To practice with the awareness of the count is to practice controlling the mind in asana practice.
Scott and Andy will lead a sanskrit counted ashtanga yoga vinyasa led class from 08:00am and then lead a counted vinyasa technique workshop to allow you to become familiar with the sanskrit numbers and the count itself. We will look at how the the count frames the practice, the patterns that help you to remember the count and see how it influences the primary and intermediate series of ashtanga yoga.
Please note: The 08:00 – 09:45 led class will be available also at a drop in rate and at the same weekend rates for those who are regular to SYL and have current passes.
This workshop is open to all ashtanga yoga practitioners.
