Primary Series Teacher Training Intensive
Manju Jois’ Primary Series Teacher Training intensive is designed for everybody who is seriously interested in the traditional way to teach Ashtanga yoga. To attend the teacher training for primary series, a regular practice in Ashtanga yoga (full “Primary Series”) is a minimum requirement.
Manju Jois will introduce and teach the powerful healing elements and techniques that make up the Ashtanga yoga system:
- the primary series, a sequential of asanas (postures) known as Yoga Chikitsa (yoga therapy),
- the Nadi Shodhana Pranayamas (breathing exercises) and
- the Vedic peace chants (Shanti Mantras).
Manju is known for his healing hands and his precise adjustments. He has over 45 years’ teaching experience, is the longest practitioner of Ashtanga yoga alive and is a master in Yoga Therapy. These trainings are focused on learning safe and helpful adjustments for each asana of the sequence. We will explore each posture in depth and detail. Manju will show his way of adjusting and assisting people in every position. He will introduce the Vinyasa Count and the correct Sanskrit pronunciation of the asanas and the Opening and Closing Chants.
Furthermore, Manju will teach Nadi Shodana Pranayama as well as the Vedic Peace Chants which help to integrate the strong practice in mind and body. There will be time for discussion so that everybody with serious interest in traditional Ashtanga yoga will benefit from the deep insights Manju can offer out of his lifelong study and teaching of this practice.
